As a parent raising a child, I developed an application called 'Don't Cry My Baby' to assist other parents in caring for their infants.
This application offers five key features:
- White Noise: This function provides various sounds, such as a mother's heartbeat, water drops, and cloth brushing, which help newborns fall asleep easily. You can choose from twelve different white noise options, including TV noise, cleaner sound, heartbeats, and vinyl bag sounds. I found that mixing music with TV sound, water droplets, and heartbeats worked particularly well for my baby.
- Lullabies: The app includes twelve popular lullabies, including English songs, classical tunes, and Music Box melodies. Additionally, there is an option to record your own lullaby in the mother or father's voice and play it repeatedly. Research suggests that low-toned father's voices are more effective in soothing babies and promoting brain development. I recorded five children's songs myself, and my wife played them while I was at work. She reported that our baby responded positively to my voice.
- Baby Toys: Infants often cry and become fussy during the first 100 days of their lives. To help soothe them, I added four baby toys (rattle, duck toy, whistle) to the application. This toy feature worked wonders in calming my baby whenever we were in the car or when they started crying.
- Animal/Vehicle/Musical Instrument Sounds: After six months of age, children start developing an affinity for animal sounds. Instead of carrying a heavy and bulky sound book, I created an app that offers various animal, vehicle, and musical instrument sounds. My son loves focusing on these sounds while we are driving.
- Kid's Videos: This function allows you to connect to popular YouTube and NAVER Kids videos that your children will love. By providing access to these videos within the app, you can easily entertain your child without having to search and choose videos on your phone each time.
'Don't Cry My Baby' provides a range of features to assist parents in soothing and entertaining their infants. The app enables you to play up to three different sounds simultaneously, choose from a selection of soothing sounds, record personalized lullabies, share recorded files with your family, and watch kid-friendly videos.
